Okay, so maybe I'm the last person to get on this bandwagon, but I just discovered saltine cracker toffee (which is most commonly known as Christmas Crack) this year. What a bad year to discover it, too, as it has sparked many a pregnancy cravings!

So the thing is... the toffee is super easy, quick, and only takes 4 ingredients (with optional toppings).
I've even "messed it up" (boiled the toffee too long) and it was still inhaled at the Christmas party.

The recipe is everywhere, and I took the measurements & times from a few different ones I saw online to come up with this one.

You will need...
~40 saltine crackers
2 sticks of butter
1 cup of brown sugar
2 cups of chocolate chips
(any decor or toppings you wish... nuts, M&Ms, sprinkles, etc)

Step 1: Line a jelly roll pan with foil, and spray liberally with cooking spray. Then, line the pan with saltine crackers in a single layer.

Step 2: Melt the butter and sugar together. Once melted, bring to a boil for 3 minutes. Take off the heat, and immediately pour over your pan lined with saltine crackers.

Step 3: Bake in a 350 degree oven for 6-7 minutes.

Step 4: Remove from oven, and sprinkle chocolate chips on the saltine toffee immediately.  Let it sit for 2-3 minutes or until melted softened.

Step 5:  Spread the melted chocolate chips over the toffee.

Optional: Sprinkle any desired toppings onto melted chocolate.

Place into the fridge to harden for about 30 minutes. Remove from foil, and break into pieces :)

ENJOY!!! :)

Have you ever had or made Saltine Cracker Toffee/Christmas Crack? Do you like it? Let me know how it goes over if you make it!

XO Steph
